Four decades ago Alpha Data started as a services company offering computer data processing on an IBM mainframe (for those old enough to remember what that is). From small beginnings of just three – the founder, a secretary, and a driver, we grew over the next three decades to 700+ staff. In that period we focused more on hardware infrastructure to help our clients build their networks and the services providers with the Internet and mobile network rollout.
Forty years later we now have over 1600 professionals and have returned to our roots focusing predominantly on services in fields ranging from security and managed service to Mobility, Artificial Intelligence, and many more.
Though the company has changed dramatically both in scale and offers, at heart we always remained true to our core values:
- care for our staff and customers,
- common sense at all levels,
- speed of delivery over bureaucracy and red tape.
These values helped us fulfill our mission of “Winning customers’ trust by delivering on the agreed expectation first time, every time.” Today we find ourselves on the crest of a huge digital economy wave. With the rapid advances in Artificial Intelligence and massive changes in the work environment because of Covid19, the near and foreseeable future has never been so exciting and challenging at the same time.
The pandemic has challenged us and yet strengthened our bonds and our togetherness as one team. In tech, to remain relevant and stay in the lead, you need to be like a skilled ‘surfer’ with the courage to ride the big waves. It’s tough and risky, and every wave eventually crashes on the shore.
