Academic teams were working hard, but the tools available to them required a lot of manual effort — reviewing attendance logs, cross-checking engagement records, and trying to spot warning signs before they escalated. With a growing student body, that approach simply wasn’t sustainable.
Alpha Data’s response was ClassPulse — an AI-powered student engagement analytics platform built on AWS. Rather than replacing the judgment of academic staff, ClassPulse gives them something they didn’t have before: a clear, consistent picture of where students may be pulling away, and a structured way to act on it. The platform brings together cloud-native infrastructure and generative AI to help teams work faster, more consistently, and with greater confidence.

AWS Lambda handles the modular processing logic that keeps the platform flexible and maintainable, while AWS Step Functions ties the full workflow together across multiple decision stages. Student case records, workflow states, and intervention histories live in Amazon DynamoDB, built for fast retrieval as data volumes grow. Amazon SNS keeps the right people informed at the right moments, and Amazon CloudWatch provides the operational visibility needed to keep everything running smoothly. Access to sensitive data is governed through AWS IAM, with least-privilege policies ensuring that each role sees only what it needs to.
